Forty Years
of Lee County Soccer
From South Fort Myers to Lee County Premier FC
The Beginning
South Fort Myers Soccer Club was founded in 1986 and initially operated out of several different local complexes. Shortly thereafter, the Lee County Strikers competitive program was established as a separate organization.
In 1991, the opening of the Kelly Road Soccer Complex provided a permanent home, and both organizations relocated there — a facility that remains our home to this day.
Growth
By the mid-1990s, the two organizations merged to form the Greater Fort Myers Soccer Club, with the Lee County Strikers serving as its competitive division.
Throughout the late 1990s, the club experienced significant growth, expanding to more than 850 players.
A Top Academy Program
In 2025, we proudly partnered with Florida Premier and rebranded as Lee County Premier FC.
As the oldest soccer club in Fort Myers, we are confident that under new leadership and direction, we will fulfill our undeniable potential as we enter our historic 40th year in 2026.
What Guides
Everything We Do
Three principles at the heart of Lee County Premier
Training should be the best part of a player's day — full of energy, creativity, competition, and smiles. A love for the game fuels lifelong passion and long-term development.
We focus on developing technically skilled, tactically intelligent, physically capable, and mentally strong players. Progress, learning, and improvement matter more than short-term results.
We cultivate an environment where players feel valued, supported, and connected to their teammates, coaches, and club. When players feel they belong, they grow with confidence and courage.
